Illinois Cares RX has been discontinued, but there are other options for persons in need of assistance. An event will be held on Wednesday, June 27 from 1-5 PM at Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana for anyone who needs to learn about other programs or needs help filling out medical/prescription assistance forms.
Please come prepared and bring with you a list of medications, dosage and frequency, medicare and/or other insurance cards, and proof of income and assets. Representatives from Champaign County Health Care Consumers, Provena Center for Healthy Aging, Champaign County Regional Planning Commission, Family Service Senior Resource Center, and Carle and Provena Hospitals will be available to assist you.
As always, United Way offers the FamilyWize prescription discount card to anyone of any income level free of charge. This discount card can help defray the cost of prescription medicines for those with no insurance or whose medication is not covered by their insurance.
