Before the summer blockbusters start, May is all about BOOKS to MOVIES! Books have shared a long history with movies, from literary monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein’s creation turning into big-screen scares in the earliest days of film, to all the superhero movies coming out today, modeled after Marvel and DC Comics. Sometimes it happens in reverse, such as the sheer number of Star Wars books that popped up after George Lucas’ successful film franchise. Here are a few stories that are equally entertaining on paper and on film and might catch a reluctant reader’s interest.
