Every person deserves to thrive.
To make that dream a reality, United Way of Champaign County fights for the health, education, and financial stability of our neighbors.
But this is not a fight we can take on without help. Change doesn’t happen alone and we need the support of our local businesses, other nonprofit organizations, and people like you. Because the challenges we face are complex. They don’t have easy answers and can last months, years, and even generations.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of those challenges. The pandemic shined a bright light on these systemic challenges, and demonstrated that normal wasn't working for so many people. That's why we aren't going back to normal - we're going forward to better. We’re rebuilding for better, more equitable, and more resilient communities.
When you support United Way of Champaign County you join the fight for:
The health of our community.
We make it easier for individuals to access substance abuse programs, receive quality health care, and access nutritious foods. We’re fighting to help everyone get—and stay—healthy. Recently we helped boost affordable access to dental care at Frances Nelson Health Center.
The chance to succeed for more kids.
From cradle to career, we ensure every child gets a strong start in life, teenagers have the tools to learn and grow, and young adults thrive in the job market. As we've done for seventeen years, in August we will distribute over 8,000 Getting Ready for Kindergarten calendars to area families with preschoolers - FREE of charge. Now more than ever, we need to support parents and caregivers.
A path toward financial stability for everyone.
We support access to services, job training, credit counseling, and money management programs that help make financial stability easier. And when times get tough, emergency shelter for families, as well as for single men and women, is available in our community for the first time ever, thanks to support from United Way donors.
Please join us in finding solutions to our community’s biggest social crises. When you give to United Way of Champaign County, you make it possible to change lives in our community and strengthen our region overall.
